Wave 5 Build Log: From Prompt Libraries to Operating Systems
The original prompt packs worked. They sold. People used them. But there was a pattern in the support messages that I couldn’t ignore.
Someone would buy the tradie pack, use two or three prompts, and go quiet. The prompts weren’t bad. They just didn’t know where the other 47 fit into their week.
That’s not a usage problem. That’s a product design problem. And fixing it meant admitting the original format wasn’t finished.
What a prompt library actually is
A list of 50 prompts is a toolkit. It’s useful if you already know what you’re building. For a sparky running a team of four who’s never used AI in a work context before, a toolkit without instructions is just clutter.
The prompts weren’t the problem. The scaffolding around them was missing.
No weekly workflow doc to tell you when to use them. No email templates to handle the outputs. No system for making it stick past week two. Just prompts, sitting in a PDF, waiting for someone to figure out their own integration.
We sold those for $9 and they were worth exactly $9.
The decision to repackage
We didn’t plan Wave 5 as a repackaging wave. We planned it as a quality pass. But when we sat down to actually improve the tradie pack, the improvements kept pointing in the same direction: the prompts need a system around them.
So we built one.
The tradie pack became a 33-page bundle. Same 50 prompts, plus a weekly AI workflow doc, a GPT setup guide, an AI policy template that accounts for Fair Work obligations, a five-template quote-to-invoice email sequence, and a review management playbook.
The café and hospitality pack got the same treatment: workflow doc, GPT setup guide, roster and staff comms templates, a Google review playbook, and supplier negotiation prompt sequences.
Both went from $9 to $49. That’s not a price increase on the same product. The $9 pack still exists. The $49 product is a different thing.

Why $49
The workflow docs and templates took longer to write than the prompts did. Testing them took longer still. A prompt you can verify in one session. A workflow doc you have to run against real business scenarios, check for edge cases, and rewrite when it doesn’t account for how people actually work.
The Fair Work-aware AI policy in the tradie pack, for instance, went through four drafts. The supplier negotiation sequences in the café pack were rewritten entirely after the first test run came back too aggressive for Australian hospitality culture.
$49 is what that work costs. If you want the $9 version, it’s still there.
What Wave 5 means
We have 18 industry packs. Tradies and cafés are the first two to get this treatment. The rest of Wave 5 is doing the same thing across all of them.
Every pack will get:
- A weekly AI workflow doc tailored to that industry’s actual rhythms
- A GPT setup guide (no assumed technical knowledge)
- An AI policy template appropriate for that sector
- Email or comms templates for common scenarios in that industry
- A review or reputation management playbook where relevant
Some industries will need more. A pack for accountants or bookkeepers has different compliance considerations than one for personal trainers. We’ll adjust the format where the industry needs it. The goal in every case is a working system people can run each week.
The $9 packs won’t disappear. People who want a prompt library can still get one. But the direction of the product line is moving toward systems. That’s where the value is. That’s what people actually use.
The honest version
We should have built it this way from the start. The $9 prompt pack format made sense when we were figuring out whether there was an audience for this at all. There was. That question is answered.
Now the question is whether we can build something people actually use every week, not just open once and forget about. The tradie and café systems are the first real answer to that question.
Sixteen more packs to go.
