Social Media Content AI Australia

Write a Month of Social Media Content in 2 Hours Using AI

Most small business owners know they should be posting consistently on social media. Most don’t, because it takes too long. AI changes that equation. Here’s a system for producing a full month of content in about two hours.

Step 1: Define your content mix (15 minutes)

Before you write anything, decide what types of posts you’ll publish. A simple mix for most Australian small businesses:

  • 40% educational (tips, how-tos, industry insight)
  • 30% behind-the-scenes or personal (builds trust)
  • 20% promotional (products, services, offers)
  • 10% community (local events, customer spotlights)

For a business posting 3 times a week, that’s roughly 12 posts a month. Assign post types to calendar slots first, then write the content.

Step 2: Generate the content in bulk (60 minutes)

Open ChatGPT and use a prompt like this:

“I run a [type of business] in [city], Australia. My audience is [describe your customers]. Write 12 social media posts for [platform] for the month of [month]. Use this mix: 5 educational posts about [your topic], 3 behind-the-scenes posts, 3 promotional posts for [your product/service], and 1 community post. Keep each post under 150 words. No hashtag walls, 2-3 relevant hashtags maximum per post.”

You’ll get a full month of drafts. Review them, personalise the ones that need it, and save them.

Step 3: Add images (30 minutes)

Canva’s free plan covers most small business social media needs. Use their templates, swap in your brand colours and logo, and you’re done. For AI-generated images, Canva’s Magic Media or Adobe Firefly work for product-type visuals. Your own photos always perform better than stock: if you have them, use them.

Step 4: Schedule everything (15 minutes)

Buffer and Later both have free plans that let you schedule posts across platforms. Upload your content, assign dates and times, and you’re done for the month. Buffer’s free plan covers 3 channels and 10 scheduled posts at a time: enough for most small businesses.

What this system produces

Consistent posting, a mix of content types, and posts that sound like your business rather than a generic AI template: because you reviewed and personalised them. The AI handles the blank-page problem. You handle the authenticity.

Run this process at the start of every month. Two hours of work, a month of consistent presence.
