The 15-Minute Win: Create a Price List or Menu Customers Actually Read
Your price list is a wall of text. Or worse, a scanned PDF from 2019 that nobody can read on a phone. Customers squint at it, give up, and ring you — asking questions you’ve answered a hundred times. “How much for a basic cut?” “Do you do group bookings?” “What’s included in the package?”
You answer. They book. Then someone else calls and asks the same thing.
AI can fix this in 15 minutes, and the result is pricing people can actually act on — not pricing that makes them pick up the phone just to understand it.
What you’ll do
Feed your existing pricing or menu into an AI tool (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini — any of them work) and get back something people can read without squinting or scrolling back and forth. Scannable. Grouped logically. With short descriptions that answer the questions before customers think to ask them.
Here’s how to do it:
- Write out your services or menu items in raw form. Names and prices, rough notes, whatever you’ve got. It doesn’t need to be tidy or complete — messy is fine.
- Use this prompt:
“Rewrite this as a clean, scannable price list for a [business type] website. Group similar items. Add a one-line description for each. Suggest where I should add a FAQ note to reduce confusion. [paste your list]” - Read every description carefully. AI sometimes invents details that sound right but aren’t accurate. Check each one against what you actually offer. Fix anything that’s wrong.
- Format it for where it’s going. Canva if you want a PDF to hand out or email. Google Docs if you want a shareable link. Or paste it straight into your website. The format matters less than the clarity.
- Tag 2 or 3 items as “most popular.” This small addition guides decisions. People lean towards options others have already chosen, and it tends to lift sales on those specific items too.
What you’ll get
A clear pricing page cuts the number of “what does it cost?” calls. One hospitality operator dropped phone enquiries by 30% after redesigning their menu with AI help. Fewer interruptions during service. More customers who already know what they want before they walk in or click through.
If you’ve got a tradie, a salon, a café, or any service business, this one is worth doing this week.
A price list people understand is a price list people trust.
